Custom Devotion
The agreement, in plain English.
Last updated: May 25, 2026
Custom Devotion is owned and operated by Next Frontier Builders, a Tennessee limited liability company ("we," "us," "our"). These terms govern your use of the Custom Devotion iOS app, the backend services it talks to, and these policy pages (together, the "Service").
You must be at least 13 years old to use Custom Devotion. The app does not require an account. Your saved defaults and library live on your device.
Custom Devotion offers Personal and Pro subscription tiers, each available monthly or annually. Each subscription begins with a 14-day free trial. After the trial, the subscription renews automatically at the price shown at purchase unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. To manage, cancel, or change your subscription, open Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We don't process refunds directly because we never receive payment information.
Family Sharing is enabled on all subscriptions — you can share your subscription with up to five other family members through Apple's Family Sharing feature.
Devotions are generated by an AI model in response to your inputs. We invest significant effort to keep the output theologically careful and faithful to historic Christian doctrine, but the output is not reviewed by a pastor before you see it. AI models can make mistakes. Always test what you read against Scripture, and consult your pastor or trusted teacher when a study touches on questions of doctrine, conscience, counseling, or personal crisis.
Custom Devotion is a tool for personal study, family worship, and small-group preparation. It is not a substitute for the local church, pastoral care, biblical counseling, or professional mental-health support.
Custom Devotion is intentionally written from within historic, conservative Protestant Christianity. The supported traditions are listed in the app and on our support page. Requests outside that scope (for example, non-Christian traditions, or theological positions outside the bounds of historic Protestant orthodoxy) will receive a pastoral refusal rather than an attempt to fake a perspective we don't share. This is by design.
If you'd like us to consider adding support for a tradition we don't currently cover, please email us at info@nextfrontierbuilders.com.
You agree not to:
What we own. The Custom Devotion name, brand, app interface, code, illustrations, and the proprietary prompt engineering behind the AI generation are owned by Next Frontier Builders and protected by copyright and trademark law.
What you own. The devotion text that the AI generates in response to your inputs is yours to use for personal study, family worship, small-group ministry, classroom teaching, and other non-commercial-republication uses. You may print it, share it with people you teach, and export it as a PDF. You may not republish generated content commercially in a way that competes with the Service (for example, by bundling output into a paid devotional product).
Scripture quotations are from public-domain translations (KJV, BSB, WEB, and similar) where included. For other translations, the app references but does not quote the verse text, in respect of the copyright holders.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or theologically inerrant.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Next Frontier Builders shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations — if you live in one of them, the limitations apply only to the maximum extent permitted by your local law.
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app and cancelling your subscription through Apple. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or engage in abuse of the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update this page and revise the "last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by direct communication shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. Apple's standard end-user license agreement applies to your use of the iOS app where its terms are not in conflict with ours.
